Love, Peace, & Hair Grease
December 28th, 2006
I had originally sat down Friday to create this all in one day but a nap got in the way. So, I’m hoping to have this finished up tomorrow, but I don’t know what tomorrow brings yet so I thought I’d post my sketch and process thus far (see below). I’ve had this in my sketchbook for quite a while and when I saw this week’s Illustration Friday theme, (peace) this popped back in my head. It’s entitled: Love, Peace and Hair Grease. I guess it could also be, oddly enough, a little Ode to James Brown too.
Above is my original sketch, and this is my messy sketch over it to get my placement nailed down and to see what will be clay and what will be background:
Here’s the kind of clay I start with:
*Notice the little thumb? The Woog snatched up the clay to make a snake.
Here’s a few sculpted and baked pieces:
*Sorry for the blurry image. The Woog was shaking the table making her snake
Here’s my background in mid-completion:
Check back for the final piece!

Oh, and I wanted to mention that I was tagged by Ginger with a meme that I had already posted. I was going to do a new one and see what new answers I came up with, but everything was the same as last time – I’m not very exciting
Thanks Ginger!!

Help & Gifts
December 18th, 2006
The above image is from a DVD project I worked on a little while back for Reading Rainbow and I thought it was appropriate for this week’s Illustration Friday theme: HELP.
I had Christmas gifts to give Saturday, so I spent most of the morning Friday making a couple of them.
The star themed junkadoodle was for my mother-in-law and the animal puzzles were for my one year old niece. Luckily come Saturday morning, the smell of paint, spray mount and liquid nails wasn’t evident

Line Art
December 14th, 2006
I normally don’t enjoy doing line art (I need color!), but these were ok. I did about 200 illustrations total for 2 different activity books. Below are their covers that I did several months back. I thought they weren’t going to use my funky title text that goes along with my junkadoodle style, but I’m glad they did!

Christmas Shopping
December 3rd, 2006
It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted anything. I’ve been busy with work and life and just haven’t felt like I had anything worth while to share. The Christmas season is in full force and if you haven’t bought your gifts yet, I encourage you to buy for people with home business’s this year. It’s a great way to help other people out and find unique gifts. I’ve learned a lot about supporting others since I’ve started my own home-based business.
I wanted to share with you all a business that a friend has started. The above lunch bag one of the many gift the Woog will be getting this year. I’ve never been able to find a lunch bag that all her stuff will fit in when she goes to mother’s day out. This is perfect and it will have her name on it so it will always be hers, plus it has little note cards to include with her lunch. There’s a $6.50 flat fee shipping which is great if you have several things to order. Also be sure to register (you don’t have to buy anything) because she gives out a gift certificate quarterly. Take a look around and see what Christmas shopping you can easily get done. Be sure to order by December 7th to get it in time for Christmas.
More frequent updates to come. Promise!
**On another note, if anyone has any idea why this site doesn’t work on FireFox let me know. I can’t figure it out!
