This is just weird!
January 30th, 2008

It’s Wednesday again and time for Woogie Wednesday.

This time we picked out her stuff and I have to say, it’s pretty weird! Not real sure what else to say about it. No harm was done to the Maria Osmond doll while making this piece:)

Are you living your creative dream?
January 29th, 2008

I am wanting to continually feature & interview some artists on my Living The Creative Dream Blog

Are you living your creative dream? I am!!

I am looking particularly for photographers, painters (fine artists), scrapbookers, crafters, knitters, designers, potters, sculptors, chef’s and those with unique creative talents.

In order to narrow the responses I get, I have come up with some requirements for being featured:

Being an artist must be your full-time job (working for your own business). You must have a significant income from your business (by significant, I mean you are supporting yourself and/or your family with your art).

So if you have an interesting story about how your dream job has become your day job, please email me!

*Feel free to pass this post on to others!

I love Crayola
January 25th, 2008

There is no better brand of crayons than Crayola – and believe me, in my almost 30 years of life, I’ve tested a ton :) Found this at Cracker Barrel last night for only $2.50. I was very excited! I might put it in a shadow box and hang it in my studio. Almost makes me want to get these too.

Big Head Monkey
January 24th, 2008

I did my part from yesterday’s Woogie Wednesday today. I took her big head and made it into a big headed monkey. I’ve been doing some different illustration work with found objects similar to this. So that’s it. We’re off to the circus where I don’t know if there will be monkeys or not. If it was up to me, I’d say bring them on!

Big Head – in progress
January 24th, 2008

It’s Wednesday again and time for Woogie Wednesday. It’s about 9:45 P.M. now and I’ve been going full force since 4am, but wanted to show a “ww” in progress.

I had several deadlines today and I knew I wouldn’t have time to do a “ww” project so while I worked I had the Woog work on her part of the project. She made several drawings of heads and then started drawing apples (with arms and legs) like crazy. Not sure what they deal was there but she was excited about them so I was too. So, this is the “Big Head” I chose to use and I will add my part tomorrow:

to be continued…

Fee-Fee McGee
January 16th, 2008

It’s Wednesday again and time for Woogie Wednesday. This is where we make one of my found object (Junk A Doodles) pieces.

Here’s what we started off with:

I then asked her, what should we make out of all this?
“Diamonds” she said with a smirk on her face. She was wearing a “diamond” ring and she wanted something to match.

I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do, so it took me a while to figure it out and in the meantime she lost interest but did check on me from time to time and hand me pieces of junk to use.

The best thing I could come up with was a cat with diamond stripes and diamonds on the collar. I also did a few stitch lines and am calling it Illustration Friday this week too.

Here’s how it turned out:

I’m still working on the Woogie Wednesday site, but prints should be up for sale over the weekend if not before.

And, now some Link Back Love for today:

found whimsy
January 15th, 2008

I’ve been under the weather since late yesterday morning (fever and all) and trying to get work done was pretty painful, but I met my deadlines and hope to be back up and running better tomorrow. One of my goals for the New Year has been to try and to do something creative everyday. And of course, I’ve got a blog for that. The pieces above are from the last 2 days. This “theme” has been in my sketchbook for well over a year so I’m glad I forced myself to take some time to create, even when I felt like poo. These print (and more will come) are available for purchase here.
