We celebrated Ocee’s 1st Birthday over the weekend and thought I’d share some pictures.

“Pup cakes” decorated with a few different dogs I illustrated:

The spread. All dog themed food lie puppy chow, bagel dogs, corn dogs, etc:

And then the digging in began. He didn’t get as messy as the Woog did on her 1st:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OCEE!
I’m posting this a little late due to a busy garden planting weekend and then deadlines, but I thought I’d share our Royal Wedding experience. The Woog was very excited about a real Prince and Princess getting married and I was excited that this was going to be the first historical event she would remember for the rest of her life. With all the tragedies in the world, I’m so glad her first is a happy occasion. The Wedding promptly started at 4:45 on Friday with Giuliana Rancic as our host (love her!) for the evening. She supplied us with fantastic seats and allowed us to have pretty much full access to the entire Abbey, so if we got blocked by a big hat, we’d just move our seats up right next to Will & Kate (who didn’t seem to mind).
We dawned our tiaras and O’Hare worn his sash:
O’Hare quickly feel asleep after the picture so I’m glad I avoided any possible stink eye from the Queen for having a crying baby at a wedding.
We had tea and crumpets (which were milk and chocolate chip cookies) and I made up a little activity booklet to work on (mainly to keep her interest in during the long ceremony).
We did a Royal Wedding Scavenger Hunt:
We found everything except my cousin Drew who is studying in London this semester. We feel sure he was at the receptions though, knowing him
We also drew the Royal couple:
mine:
Drew our favorite hats of the day and also counted how many hats we saw. I found 101 and the Woog found 207.
She had a blast (and so did I)!

There’s a Tea Party coming with 19 squealing little girls. The Woog turns 6!
This was the 3rd and final cake for the Woog’s 5th birthday (here’s #1 and #2). I’m done eating and baking cake for a while. The party was a school theme since she’ll start kindergarten in the fall. It might be hard to tell from the picture but the pink cake is a backpack. The cake and the party were a big hit with her!
The Woog turned 5 today! Now that she’s 5, she can apparently do a lot of things “since she 5 now.” We had a very small easter lunch and party after church with just us and grandparents. I also made a quick snow white cake.
Next week is her “BIG” party so lot of prep coming up this week! With a cold coming on, the easter bunny coming, cake and riding her new bicycle, she’s now zonked out on the couch.
Happy Birthday Woog!! I love you!!!
The Woog turns 5 on Easter so she’ll have double the goodies! Her party will have a school theme. These invitations were mailed in a clear envelopes from ClearBags so the world would see that “Walker turns 5!”
Thanks for all who donated and/or re-posted my last blog post. In one week (via a facebook & twitter campaign) they were able raise $7,000 and receive $2000 in skymiles. Very cool!!
The W party went great! Here’s a picture of her cake. All the w’s are chipboard pieces that I bought on etsy.
Oh, and Happy Tax day to those in the US (or at least try and make it happy)! If you work at the IRS, my check will probably pay for your entire salary this year
